Alfred Sisley

Alfred Sisley was an Impressionist painter born in Paris to affluent English parents. He worked primarily painting landscapes en plein air after becoming acquainted with other artists of the time including Renoir and Monet. This work, completed in 1891, exhibits his talents as a landscape artist. He paints the gentle curve of the Loing River with a path curving along side it, the subtle colors reflecting the ever changing light of the French countryside.
