Clay County Farm

Thomas Hart Benton

Along with Grant Wood and John Steuart Curry, Thomas Hart Benton was one of the forerunners of the American Regionalist art movement. Benton was particularly in love in the Ozarks and the Buffalo River, taking his students on annual trips to Arkansas. Clay County Farm represents some of Benton's signature style, with undulating hills and the use of bright colors in the landscape.
